There are three things to consider when you are going to evaluate or construct a paragraph in a certain composition. These three things are the unity, coherence and emphasis.

Emphasis means that the idea should be made to stand from the rest of the elements inside the paragraph. In establishing emphasis, the main idea of what the author or the writer wants to say should show to have
more importance.In establishing unity, coherence, or emphasis, it is important to determine where to put the topic sentence inside the paragraph. Topic sentence is greatly considered in the paragraph construction. The topic sentence is the one that summarize the central idea that the paragraph wanted to tell to its readers.
In establishing paragraph unity, determining what the topic sentence is all about is very important. It is used to guide the specific focus of the paragraph’s composition as well as in cutting out some details within. Furthermore, the topic sentence tells the readers about the things to come up or the things that will follow after.
The paragraph’s topic sentence is usually located at or near the beginning of the paragraph. However, even though most of the writers use to put the topic sentence in the beginning, it could also be placed in some transitional sentence in the middle or in the end of the paragraph as a conclusion.
